Dave, Avery, and I all ran in a 5k that ended in the "Big House." We got to run through the tunnel where the football players go- fun!!

Sept 30: Avery's 1st Trip to the Emergency Room
We were getting ready for bathtime when Avery slipped, fell, and hit the back of her head on our hardwood floor. She then proceeded to go unconscious! Eek. She was out for several seconds, came back to, but wasn't herself. She was groggy and out of it, not crying, pretty much limp. We threw her in the car and headed to the ER, as she tried to fall asleep the whole time. Me, simultaneously trying to keep her awake while crying/choking out "the eensy weensy spider." As soon as we made it there she pretty much snapped out of it, and was fine, pointing to Dora the Explorer on the walls of her hospital room. They watched her for an hour or so and decided she was just fine as long as she didn't show any other symptoms. We monitored her all night and she seemed like her normal self, only confused as to why we were waking her every 3 hours to hug her and kiss her. Anyway, they gave us the go ahead to head to KY the next day. Hopefully we won't be making any more trips to the ER any time soon. =(
Oct 1: Avery and I head to KY to visit Mimi, Granddaddy, Aunt Katie, and the rest of the gang. We stayed Wed-Sun and Avery was basically in hog heaven. Mimi and Avery explored every inch of the yard, running, playing, picking up leaves, acorns, etc. What a switch compared to our .2 acre lot here! The house was also a Disney-worldish scenario, with Taz the dog, a kitty, 2 birds, and plenty of toys, books, and low level cabinets to dig around in. We had lots of fun and I can foresee many happy times in our future with Avery wrapping these grandparents more and more around her little fingers.

At the arts and crafts show where Avery kept pulling off her shoes and socks and sticking her bare, redneck feet way up in the air:

Otherwise I've been working, working, working like crazy until our Oct 15 deadline is over at work. There's light at the end of the tunnel!
