Gotta love a spring weekend.

Well, the weekend's over, but ah, it was a nice one. Although Dave was on call Saturday, we still got in plenty of rest and relaxation during this lovely spring weekend.

Friday, I decided Avery's toys were cluttering up the entire house and some action needed to be taken. I cleaned out the storage ottoman, and now Avery has a wonderful new toy box, which as
you see can double as a play pen for about 1.2 seconds. Ha ha.

(don't worry, it has a very lightweight lid that will not slam shut- we're paranoid too)

Saturday night, I attended the Junior League 25th Anniversary Celebration, our 80's themed fund raiser. Dave was on call, and he all too willingly stayed home with Avery while I attended the party, where it was highly encouraged that you dress in 80's clothes. He even talked a few friends into coming over to play Guitar Hero with him while they "babysat." In case Dave got called in to the hospital, they could take over baby duty. He missed a good party! There was a great 80's band, yummy food, wonderful friends, and you know I loved a good themed party =)

Too bad you can't see my leg warmers!! (Thanks Sara and Susan, yes, I have your old Lacoste hunter green leg warmers and they're my best 80's party costume accessory)

This morning, Dave ran a half marathon in the next town over (Pinckney, Michigan) on the Potowatami Trail. He did a great job! Here is a picture of Nick, Dave, Chris, and Avery before the race.

While Dave ran the 13.1 miles, Avery and I hung out in the park, relaxed in the sunshine, and tried to stay warm on this relatively cold and windy morning. Gotta love the jogging stroller- so much room for all of our gear, snacks, blankets, etc. It's like a having a rolling baby station. Way to go Dave- great job on the run!

Anyway, I'm signing off for now, will probably be back Wednesday with more exciting Morris updates!
