School and Aug 19

Dave started work this week, which seems to be going well, and Avery also started her Mother's Day Out program. It's nice to get into a real routine, and I am grateful to have some uninterrupted time to work. For the past month, I've had to run to my computer any moment that Avery shut her eyes or sat down to watch Dora. Here is a picture of Avery before heading to "school" on Tuesday. She is going to the First Baptist Church in Hendersonville, which seems great and I'm sure she'll like it. However, the first day did not go so well. The ladies never found her blankie or paci in her backpack (even though they were there labeled in a ziplock- GRRR), so they said she cried the entire day and of course did not take a nap. She went again today (against her wishes) but it went a lot better and she told me she had fun at school with her friends and she wants to go back another day. Whew.

Oh and the mail just came and Dave passed his board exam- whoo hoo! Although I wasn't worried a bit =)

Last bit of news was Avery's actual birthday yesterday. We had already had several mini parties, so yesterday was pretty low key. We started out the day with mickey mouse pancakes, candles and all.
Dave was off in the morning, so we opened presents and hung out and played with them together. After some mac and cheese and a good nap, Avery and I spent the rest of the afternoon at Avery's favorite place- the pool, where she swam like a fish and tired herself out. A great birthday in my opinion, I can't believe my baby is already two years old! Yikes, this is going too fast, but I'm enjoying every moment!
