Head Shots

Ok, I admit it. I have a problem. I cannot stop taking pictures of these kids! They're so stinkin' cute (in my biased opinion that is) - thought you might like to see my latest pics of Miss Lucy!

Lucy is looking over at Avery in this one- that's the smile she saves just for her:

Old golf pics, Emily visits, Bryce's bday party

Here are some pics from Lucy's first golf excursion and my first golf cart trip around Fairvue

Avery is an old pro so she showed us the ropes

She got some putting lessons from Dave

It was a little windy, but we had so much fun! Looking forward to many more rides this summer, especially since we can hop on home at #8

A few weekends ago, my dear friend Emily Felker came into Nashville for a wedding so we were so excited to meet up with her! She hadn't seen Avery since Dec 07 and had never met Lucy so we had lots of fun catching up. She is having her own little bundle of joy this summer and we can't wait to meet him!!

Here are some pictures from the super-fun birthday party that Avery went to last weekend for her friend Bryce. It was at a park where they played, ate cake, and rode tricycles until we walked 50 yards over to the fire station! Avery was very impressed with the fire station and still talks about it all the time. The firefighters were so nice- they let the kids poke around inside the fire truck, gave them cute plastic fireman hats, and even rode around the playground with the sirens blazing and sprayed a cool stream of water out in the parking lot. It was great!

Here Avery is at Peek-a-boo Playtown, which is a new play place that opened up here in Hendersonville last week. She is dressed up like a fireman and drove the fire truck cozy coupe the whole time we were there.  I told you she was impressed with the fire station!

May 18, 2010- Music Program, Swingset

Avery's preschool had an end of the year music program on Tuesday- thought you might want to see it =) It was very exciting to be at Avery's very first performance - the first of many, I'm sure.

Tuesday was also an exciting day because Dave finished building Avery's new swingset! Whoo hoo! Sam's Club's finest- we are very pleased so far and hats off to Dave for spending every free moment of the last 2 weeks screwing boards together. Yay for summer!

Hanging Out

Miss Lucy has been practicing her "tummy time" and is getting really good with her head and back strength. She looks like she's about to take off and crawl in this picture!

Here is a frame I've been working to fill for a while- we got it as a baby gift when Avery was born and I just now got around to organizing and ordering the pictures from each month of Avery's first year. Thought you might like to see how it turned out:

Here are the girls before church on Sunday- Happy 3 Month Birthday to you Lucy!

Lucy finds her hands

Lucy LOVES her toys recently and has figured out how to hoist her hands up onto things to check them out. She doesn't have perfect control yet, but I thought this was a cute video of her playing and totally ignoring me when I tried to talk to her.

Sweet Sisters

Here are some pics of the girls goofing around after "rest time" yesterday. Yes, Avery has essentially outgrown her nap- UGH!! At least bed time has gotten a lot earlier and easier =)

Golfing, Mother's Day

We joined the golf course this spring and Avery has had a blast riding around with Dave on the golf course. Luckily they seem to be fine with kids doing that as long as they don't cause any trouble =). It works great because Dave is happy playing golf, Avery is happy riding around outside, and Lucy and I are happy to have some alone time. Here are some pics of Avery before a round with Dave:

I think she has some potential! She looks so old here, waah!

We had a wonderful Mother's Day yesterday, starting with church and then lunch at Fairvue where REBA MCENTIRE was also having lunch. Yay for celebrity sitings! I did not take her picture because of course everyone was being very non-chalant, or at least acting that way with a gleam in their eyes. She lives here in Gallatin so it's not too rare of an occurrence. She was beautiful of course- very tiny and looking very botoxed =)

Here is a picture of Avery and her buddy Addison playing around after we ate:

Here I am with my girls:

I feel so very blessed to have them, and I am grateful every single day that I am their mother. Being a mother of two young children is trying at times, but I really try not to get so bogged down in the day to day craziness that I don't appreciate my babies. I have been waiting for this my whole life and my days have never been so filled with joy, laughter, and good clean fun. I am also incredibly lucky to have a wonderful Mother of my own, and I thank her for showing me how to be a great parent. My parents always have, and still do, put the needs of their children before anything else in their lives and I only hope to be so selfless. I also have to shout out to a great mother-in-law and step mother-in-law too! Did I mention I'm a very lucky gal?!

Here we are hanging out in my new favorite spot- a comfy swivel glider reading books with my 2 cuties!

Oh and I also have to brag on Avery a bit for her new drawing skills. She loves to draw faces- happy ones, sad ones, & mad ones, with hair, crowns, ears, whiskers etc. depending on "who" she is making. She also can write the letter A. "A is for me!" she says! She below, using her favorite medium- sidewalk chalk.
