Happy Father's Day!

Dave's first Father's Day was today! Luckily, Dave didn't have to work today so he and Avery had plenty of bonding time together. That is, when Dave wasn't playing with his father's day gift- Ninja Gaiden2 for Xbox =) Here they are together!

This afternoon, we went to a "Cornhole" party at Nick and Melissa's house. Cornhole is basically just a beanbag game where you try to throw sacks full of corn into the hole on the cornhole board. Dave made these boards last summer from plywood. One of his many skills!

It was a really pretty afternoon, and it was lots of fun to hang out with the other residents. Here's a picture of the guys playing (Dave/Tim won the championship- yippee) and Avery observing from the grass:

Here is Avery's urology friend, Vivian Jackson, they're just a week apart. They had fun sharing toys!
The thing Avery liked best about the party was the carpet (so nice for crawling compared to our hardwood floors) and the stairs! She was like- "Oh, these stairs look like FUN! I think I could master these !"

Here is Avery with her "Uncle" Bradford. Tim Bradford is one of our best friends- an outgoing 6th year resident about to do a fellowship in Australia before assuming his private practice job in Richmond. We're really going to miss him!

That's about it from today. Last night we had the Chief's Dinner, basically the urology graduation dinner for this year. They honor the residents who are finishing, do a speech about their lives/work, and bid them farewell. It was fun to get dressed up and hang out with our urology friends- a lot of whom I hadn't seen in a while. Dave did a great job presenting Bradford. Katie Fraumann came over to babysit Avery for us. THANK YOU KATIE!! Avery had so much fun playing with Katie, showing off all of her toys and tricks. Supposedly Avery behaved herself pretty well- Yay! Katie is expecting a little boy in September so she wanted to get in some practice, and I'm glad Avery didn't scare her too badly =) We really appreciate her helping us out- Avery would not have enjoyed the chief's dinner at all, and we still haven't found a babysitter around here. Please email me if you have any recommendations!

Anyway, I'm signing off for tonight. Happy Father's Day to all you Dad's, especially ours!!
