Avery does have a bit of stranger anxiety right now, but after a few strange looks towards Mom on the car ride home from the airport, Avery remembered her Mimi. Whew =) If Avery only knew what fun tricks Mimi has up her sleeve, she really wouldn't be questioning that friendship.Dave's out of town this weekend interviewing for post-residency jobs. He's in Louisville, KY doing his 1st interview there. He's interviewed in Nashville and Toledo and will do an interview in Indianapolis later this month. Avery and I will join him for the 2nd interview at these places and will hopefully make a decision in the next several months. His new job wouldn't start, though, until next July, so we've got plenty of time. It's pretty exciting!
Things here were going great until Thursday afternoon. Avery took an extra long nap and when she woke up, she was quite irritable and seemed really hot. I took her temperature and it was 102.5. Uh oh! The pediatrician had told me the previous week to call if she got a fever, so I gave them a call and they wanted to see her like 30 minutes later. She was clingy and snuggly, but still gave the doctor a smile or two. They took her temperature and said, "You look pretty good for a girl with a temperature of 104.1". Yowzers. They did several tests- checked her oxygen levels, heart rate, looked for an ear infection, and even catheterized the poor baby to check her urine, but nothing looked amiss. They think she may have roseola, which would give her a high fever, and she may end up with a rash after several days. We keep giving her tylenol/motrin and she seems alright, though her temp has still ranged from 100-103 today. She's been sleeping on Mimi a lot and is definitely not her usual chipper self. I told Mom, "Good thing our house guest's favorite activity is loving on and snuggling with Avery. We wouldn't be too exciting for someone who wanted some action." This is how we spent most of the day:
Anyway, keep Avery in your thoughts - hopefully her fever will go down soon!
