Cold Season… Still?!

Avery got several bad colds this past winter- coughs, stuffy nose, fever, general drowsiness, nothing too serious, but I was quite glad to get rid of them and was looking forward to a sniffle free spring. Well, so much for that - Avery (and now me, too, of course) is sick =( Avery had been coughing for about a week, but didn’t show any other signs of distress, especially during the day. But when I picked Avery up from Lauren’s last week, she said she was pulling her ears, not taking her naps, and wasn’t acting quite right. She had a fever that night of like 99.5 so I wasn’t too worried, especially with teething also in full force, and she was fine throughout the day on Wednesday. Well, Wednesday night was awful! She was up for several hours whining and crying and didn’t want to be put down and couldn’t sleep. So Thursday morning, with the help of a little internet research (I know, a pediatrician’s best friend), I decided Avery had an ear infection. I guess I sounded convincing enough on the phone, because they wanted to see her, but alas- no ear infection to be found =) Hee, hee, I swear she had all the symptoms! Anyway, they said she just had a bad cold, and she seems to be getting better this week. She still isn’t sleeping well though and sounds so pitiful. And now she has given it to me. Oh well! I’m sure my sniffle free spring is just around the corner… hopefully I won’t discover that Avery inherited her Dad’s allergies =)

Don't worry, she wasn't too sick- here is the laugh attack she had on Friday afternoon:

So basically last week/weekend, we just stayed around the house and tried to recover. Dave had to work most of Saturday, so we dropped the Fraumanns off at the airport and then played with Anna on Sat afternoon. Sunday the weather was pretty again, so we set up the hammock and played outside for a bit. Here are some pictures- Avery was trying to escape the hammock. Then she enjoyed crawling around in the grass. Check out her intense expression. This girl is on a mission! (towards the cat of course). We also hit up Dairy Queen for the first time this year and gave Avery a lick or two of ice cream. YUM!

I want to know why "Washington, DC" is not a choice in the list of locations the Morrises might choose. I was forced to pick Ann Arbor in the hopes of seeing you all at Christmas every year! :)

Miss you! Avery is darling, as always!
